A. Communication Design

1. Graphic Design

B.Des Admission at SID Pune
In order to get enrolled for B.Des Programme at SID Pune, you need to meet the prerequisite criteria prescribed by the governing authority and University, here are those eligibility criteria:
Eligibility Criteria
You must have passed 10+2 (any stream; e.g. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% (SC/ST – 45%) aggregate marks obtained in the final examination.
If you are appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma programme, you can also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior.
You should possess Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education as well as adoptability to the situations, which the profession demands.
Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED)
In addition to the above eligibility requirements, you also required to take the online Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), because no admission would be possible to SID Pune without a valid SEED score.
SEED – Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design is conducted by the Symbiosis International University on behalf of Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) in objective to shortlist appropriate candidates for B.Des Admission.
It is one-hour online proctored entrance exam of 60 questions. The questions could be MCQ, Match the Columns, fill in the blanks, image-based and comprehension based.
The paper will contain a mix of questions related to Visual Sensitivity and Judgement, Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities, Problem Solving, Basic knowledge of Logic of Science and Mathematics, Art, Craft and Culture, Design and Environment.
B.Des Admission Process at SID Pune
Admission to B.Des programme of SID Pune will be according to the following process.
If you’re eligible for the course, you need to take online Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) and if you would qualifies SEED, you will be shortlisted for the 2nd Round of the selection process which consist of Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI).
You need to upload your Portfolio on the portal one day prior to the PRPI. Your portfolio may contain:
- Sketches, mixed media illustrations and digital work
- Collaging of images, 2D and 3D articles
- Photography
- 3D objects like sculpture, fabric products, gadgets, art inspired products etc.
[Your digital portfolio should be a compilation of your best works showcasing your skills, passion and
interest in a variety of areas and techniques. Click good quality pictures of these and compile them in

You need to perform the PRPI Task, that will be shared 3 days before the chosen date for online PRPI, and upload the PRPI Task on the portal one day prior to the PRPI.
